They might be white roses since they mean new beginning or a farewell. I think that is pretty fitting because Kaneki is starting his new beginning as a ghoul. Also, red spider lilies mean rebirth and death. Probably the whole thing is symbolism.

yeah i reckon the flowers symbolise something (symbolism is always great) but i feel like the white flower edges are too uneven to be roses? from what i could see at least. but the idea of it symbolising a new beginning or farewell is cool :D thanks for replying!

I saw some posts saying they were carnations but idk
